Terros Health and the ASU School of Social Work are pleased to announce the 18th Annual Cesar Chavez Conference will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2022.
Due to COVID-19 still being extremely prevalent in our daily lives, this year’s conference will be held remotely again this year via a Zoom Webinar from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. We will be hosting a full day of speakers and offer APA, NBCC, NADAAC or NASW Continuing Education Units (CEUs)*. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions of our presenters and panelists through the chat function which we will address before each session is concluded.
The conference will feature numerous speakers in a panel-format for up to 6 hours of continuing education (based on approval by governing bodies) covering the following topics:
Resiliency in Action
The pandemic has been difficult on all of us. Despite trials and tribulations, our diverse communities have done an incredible job of remaining resilient and healthy these last 2 years. In these sessions experts will share the best practices, treatments, and resources our communities have leveraged to demonstrate resiliency in action.
Overcoming Depression and Anxiety for those in Helping Professions
Throughout the pandemic, workers in helping professions have experienced increasing numbers of anxiety, depression, loneliness, and other mental health concerns. Participants will gain insights into what is causing these increases and learn about resources to help workers be resilient and cope with the mental health impact of their work.
Uniting Against Bullying
Though methods of bullying have changed over the years, the impact of bullying has not! The session aims to increase awareness of bullying in the 21st century, introduce resources that can enable resiliency in those being bullied, and provide an understanding of how we can work together to decrease bullying in schools, homes, and workplaces.
Rising Above the Opioid Epidemic
In 2021, throughout the state of Arizona, there were over 3,000 cases of non-fatal opioid overdoses and almost 1,900 confirmed opioid deaths. The opioid epidemic is taking a tremendous toll on Arizona residents. We'll discuss the unfortunate impact this epidemic is having on our diverse communities and identify effective treatment options to help patients find relief and recovery from opioid addiction.
Thank you for your overwhelming support. We are so happy to be able to provide this continuing education opportunity to our wonderful health community and we look forward to seeing you this Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 9:00 a.m.
