During the advising session, the student and the academic advisor review the student's progress through the program, discuss course pre-requisites, and develop an academic plan for completion of degree requirements. The advising session is also utilized to inform students of deadlines and to explain the petition process in case a student wants to request a curriculum variance.

For information regarding academic advising and to schedule an appointment, undergraduate students should visit Watts College Advising. Appointments are available via phone, zoom, or in-person. Please note Arizona State University and the School of Social Work use Mountain Standard Time (MST) when scheduling appointments.

Graduate MSW Student Advising

New MSW students must complete Canvas academic advising orientation prior to having their registration hold cleared.

The advising team practices a team-based approach. Students are not assigned to one advisor. For appointment options, please use this link.

Academic advising appointments are available for students who have been admitted into the MSW program and have registered for their first semester of classes. Please note Arizona State University and the School of Social Work use Mountain Standard Time (MST) when scheduling appointments.
