All BSW students in the School of Social Work are required to participate in mandatory advising every semester, including summer sessions. Students cannot register for classes until they have met with an academic advisor each semester.
During the advising session, the student and the academic advisor review the student's progress through the program, discuss course pre-requisites, and develop an academic plan for completion of degree requirements. The advising session is also utilized to inform students of deadlines and to explain the petition process in case a student wants to request a curriculum variance.
