Continuing Education (CEUs)

The Arizona State University School of Social Work is expanding their continuing education and professional development programs and would like to hear from you.

We believe in a philosophy of community embeddedness and inclusion, and are currently seeking scholars and professionals within the helping professions to share their knowledge and expertise through our Continuing Education program. 

Learning doesn’t end after graduation. 

Keeping up with current and effective approaches to social and behavioral health services, and maintaining licensure with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (BBHE) takes time. That's why the School of Social Work focuses on delivering the most practical and effective treatment tools to you, as well as providing our graduates and the broader community continuing education opportunities with experienced practitioners from diverse backgrounds and sectors.  

We look to you for meaningful, worthwhile content that expands knowledge and improves capacity for all of those engaged in delivering social, health, or safety services.

If you have an idea for a new continuing education program or workshop, would like to share a program that you already deliver, or are interested in how you can share your expertise - tell us about it through our Professional Development Portal. 

Past sessions have included topics such as: 

• Motivational Interviewing for Substance Use Disorder

• Verbal De-escalation

• Ethical Decision-making

• Cultural Competency

• Psychopharmacology and Street Triage

• Compassion Fatigue and Self Care 

We hope to dive deeper into these topics, as well as new and impactful subjects that are applicable in the here and now. We encourage addressing difficult issues, equitable solutions to systemic problems, and useful tactics to employ in the field.
