The Nepal-Phoenix Sister School project has been a continue of what an Office of Global Social Work intern first developed. This project in partnership with a local nonprofit, The Global Network for Sustainable Development, which has sister-schools in various countries. Our interns successfully carried out the sister-schools project that was developed by alumni. By partnering with Alhambra High-school and Reliance English Boarding School in Nepal, we were able to promote a global connection between the students.

These clubs have gifted students with the power to see themselves in a brighter light and connect with people across the globe. This confidence is built through knowledge and practice of problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills. Currently, the Phoenix students are brainstorming methods of communication with their Nepali sister school. The interns are also working on expanding the clubs to partner with a school in Senegal and formulating a curriculum guide to assist future interns in the progression of the project.
