Nisha Rehman

Nisha Rehman is currently a senior at ASU, Barrett the Honors College. She is majoring in Biomedical Sciences. Nisha also created a nonprofit foundation named in Hands for Henna which seeks to empower refugee girls. We work towards our mission in three different ways. Firstly, we raise awareness about the refugee crisis and the importance of education for refugee girls by interviewing refugee girls about their experiences coming to the United States and why education is important to them. We publish the interview articles on our website. Secondly, we donate school supplies to refugee girls. We either purchase the school supplies from the proceeds we make selling henna tattoos, or we raise the school supplies via donation drives. Thirdly, we host educational classes where we teach refugee girls about educational resources available to them. I have a passion for serving underserved populations, especially refugee youth. I aspire to grow Hands for Henna and incorporate health education classes and even a free clinic for underserved women such as refugee women.
