What makes us unique
ASU School of Social Work is one of the largest and most multi-faceted schools of social work in the country. Situated within a public research university that is consistently rated #1 in the country in innovation, sustainability and global impact, we prepare social work practitioners, researchers and advocates to lead positive change in the Southwest, nationally and globally. Our MSW program is in the U.S. News and World Report's top 20, and our faculty are ranked among the top 12 most productive researchers by the National Science Foundation.
World-class faculty
Our impressive faculty inspire the next generation of social workers through real-world solutions to issues in areas such as child welfare, family violence, health and mental health disparities, human trafficking and water scarcity. They are among the most prolific social work researchers in the country and have written many of the texts used in social work programs across the U.S.
Leveraging our locations
We offer academic programs in Phoenix, Tucson, Yuma and online. Our location, near an international border and many tribal communities, provides unique opportunities for our students to collaborate and learn with agencies and partners in the Southwest. And, as one of the oldest and largest online social work programs, we have long-standing agreements with practicum agencies across the country that enable students to gain skills and develop professional networks within their own communities.
