Call for Presenters:

The Planning Committee for theTerros Health 14th Annual Cesar E. Chavez Behavioral Health Conference invites you and your colleagues to submit a proposal for one of our 20 concurrent sessions.

 

Presentation Format:

We are seeking proposals for concurrent sessions to be presented on 3/23/18, at the address noted above.  A concurrent session is usually 75 minutes. You may submit for a two part (150 minutes) workshop for a topic specific to best practices in Substance Use/Co-occurring, Supervision or Ethics.

 

Criteria for Workshop Selection:

  • Build knowledge or skills to improve outcomes with diverse populations
  • Promote the implementation, practice, and/or adaptation and innovations for evidence-based and/or best practices in substance abuse treatment, behavioral health, integrated healthcare and health equity
  • Clear Learning objectives
  • Clarity and originality of material
  • Embrace the conference theme
  • Model the Core Values of Cesar Chavez: Service to Others, Sacrifice, A Preference to Help the Most Needy, Determination, Non-Violence, Acceptance of All People, Respect for Life and the Environment, Celebrating Community, Knowledge, Innovation.

 

Audience Profile:

Your presentation will be before a group of treatment and healthcare professionals and policy makers working at all levels of their organizations. Participants who turned in their evaluations at last year’s conference were primarily woman (77%), had a Bachelors or Masters degree (64% with Masters), and about half were licensed professionals.

Presenters Agreement:

By submitting a proposal I/we understand that all selected presenters and co-presenters:

  • Register for the Conference (you will be notified of date when enrollments open).  Sessions and meals are available to you, with your registration.  
  • Are responsible for bringing power point presentations to assigned classroom on a flash drive.
  • Are responsible for content and length of power point presentations to match workshop description and time allotted. Technical assistance is available upon request.
  • Are responsible for handouts. Your workshop room capacity will be provided to you.

  • Permit bio(s), and/or workshop descriptions and/or titles to be edited.

 

Guidelines for Submission:

  1. Email completed proposals by December 15, 2017, for early review. All proposals must be received by December 31, 2017. All applications must be completed in full for application to be considered. Please honor guidelines for maximum lengths of titles, bios and workshop descriptions. Multiple submissions from a single agency will be considered.
  2. Presenters will be notified of proposal status by January 20, 2018.
