Em Loerzel, MSW (White Earth Anishinaabe) is a social welfare PhD student at the University of Washington in Seattle. She previously worked as a social worker within the Chicago American Indian community doing community organizing, research, and program directoring for a direct service and outreach program for Native American survivors of human trafficking in the lower Midwest. Her current work and research involve intimate partner and sexual violence, and commercial sexual exploitation in the Native community. She is also a part of a dynamic violence research team through Johns Hopkins University's School of Nursing.
